Big Day

Today was a big day here. Ananya had her first day of preschool today. We went into the classroom and watched the other kids for a minute. I asked Ananya if she wanted down and she said yes. I put her down and she kept looking at me. I tried to encourage her to join the group. She crawled over to them. I put her alittle closer on a square "indian style". She quickly became enveloped in what the teacher was saying. I stayed for just a minute and then quickly snuck out the door. When I picked her up, the teachers said she did great. Crawled around looking at all the toys. I found them in the gym. Ananya started squealing when she saw me. She was waving to me and bye-bye to all the kids.
It was a good day. She had alot of fun. It may become an interesting experience as she gets alittle older. For now, I'll enjoy the good reports.

Kayaking

Yesterday I had a very active day.
I went running after work like normal. I must have run almost 4 miles I think. I've improved alot in the last few weeks. Yesterday was the first time ever that I ran an entire mile. I've been mostly running til I can't breath then walking til I can. Apparently the strategy is working. I'm doing really well. Also the weather has lightened up considerably here so it isn't so humid. I'll probably start doing some speed work soon. I just hate the thought because I hate running in circles.
Anyways.
After I slept for awhile I went kayaking with a friend of mine. She found 2 kayaks for a great deal and I have lake access so its a great situation. I've never kayaked before last Sunday. I really like it. Ananya likes to go out with me. We went several miles yesterday. We were gone for 1 1/2 hours. Ananya just sat in my lap looking around. She had her hand on the paddle and was "helping". Of course at times that made rowing very difficult.
I guess I have a new hobby now kind of. I really liked being out on the water. Its so calm and peaceful, except when the jet skis came out to play. This is us wore out after our long trek up and back down the river.
